Welcome to the Shepherd’s Staff Online. This newsletter is sent weekly by the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd to keep parish members and friends informed of current activities at the church.

Nominations for the Elections
The Nominating Committee is currently accepting nominations for candidates for election as delegate to the Diocesan Convention and election for Vestry. Nominations will be accepted through Sunday, January 20. Elections will be held at our annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, February 10. The members of the Nominating Committee are:

To nominate someone, obtain a nomination form from the church or the parish office. You will need to sign the form and have the person you are nominating also sign the form. The form can be sent to a member of the Nominating Committee or delivered to the parish office.

Any member of the congregation is eligible to be nominated provided that they meet the criteria set in our by-laws. These criteria state that the nominee must be:

  1. At least 18 years of age;
  2. A confirmed member of the Episcopal Church;
  3. A member in good standing for at least six (6) months prior to the election. A member in good standing is defined as a person who, for the previous six months, regularly attended services and is recognized as a member of the congregation; who contributed by subscription or otherwise for the funds or expenses of the church; and who, if required, declare themselves conscientiously attached to the doctrine and discipline and worship of the church.

Pot Luck Luncheon – Sunday, January 13
Our Pot Luck Luncheon for January will be held in Worsham Hall this Sunday, January 13, immediately following the10:00 AM service. Please remember to bring your favorite covered dish, either hot or cold, or a salad or dessert, to the kitchen on your way into the service. The Buildings and Grounds Committee will be hosting the luncheon and will see that your covered dish is brought out to the serving tables. Be sure to join us for this wonderful time of fellowship. Outreach Committee Meeting – Monday January 14
The Outreach Committee holds its monthly meeting every second Monday at 6:00 PM in the Fant Library. For more information, contact Paul Arrington, Chair of the Outreach Committee at 388-7297 or

Pool News
Beginning January 5, Good Shepherd contracted Amenity Services Group to manage our pool. Amenity Services Group manages pools, clubhouses and other amenities for residential communities and clubs locally and throughout the state of Florida. Look for additional information soon regarding pool activities. In the meantime, if you at the church on a weekday, stop by and meet Allison or Jeff , our new pool directors.
