Wednesday Evenings – Eucharist: 5:30 p.m. and Program 6:10 p.m.
Eucharist is in the Chapel and the program is in Craig Hall. Come join us and bring a friend.
The Rector is beginning a new series this week entitled “Episcopalians and the E-word.” If you have wondered why evangelism has traditionally been such an issue within the Episcopal Church, and why there is such a reluctance to engage in it, then this will be a good series for you attend. Come hear how we can be witnesses for Jesus Christ effectively in a world that is so desperate to hear the Good News of the Gospel.
June Potluck Luncheon – Sunday, June 8 – 11:15 am
Each week we receive food donations for the St. Mary’s Episcopal food bank. Baskets are provided in the back of the church. We thank those who faithfully bring food so others do not go hungry.
Choral Evensong – Thursday, June 12 – 7:00 pm
The worship will include settings by Martin Neary and Charles Wood, and the anthem will be “Sing a New Song” by Heinrich Schultz; arranged by C Jennings. The Youth Choir from St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Raleigh, North Carolina will be featured

Christian Bear
It seems a pastor from Maine skipped services one Sunday to go bear hunting in the mountains. As he turned the corner along the path, he and a bear collided. The pastor stumbled backwards, slipped off the trail, and began tumbling down the mountain with the bear in hot pursuit. Finally the pastor crashed into a boulder, sending his rifle in one direction and breaking both legs As the bear closed in, the pastor cried out in desperation, "Lord, I'm sorry for what I have done. Please forgive me and save me Lord, please make that bear a Christian." Suddenly the bear skidded to a halt at the pastor's feet, fell to its knees, clasped its paws together and said, "God, bless this food which I am about to receive."
